Our Story

Behold, I Will Do A New Thing.

Our story began in 2016 under the name New Beginnings Outreach — a name drawn from our founding verse, Isaiah 43:19: "Behold, I will do a new thing." As we journeyed on, Pastor Bradley sought the face of God and felt led to shorten the name to simply The New. We are a body of believers who keep the Spirit of God at the center of everything — it is our culture.

The Bennett family has always held a standard of integrity toward the pastors they have served. Pastor Bradley has been part of only three churches, and his former pastors have each retired, resigned, or restored the Bennetts along the way. To this day, Pastor Duke Chance remains a voice of wisdom and accountability over Pastor Bradley, who still submits to his covering.

It was Pastor Chance who first saw the pastoral gift and calling on Pastor Bradley — and who blessed and released him to begin a new work in Albany, Louisiana. Through a series of God-ordained turns, the church relocated from Albany to Hammond, where the Lord miraculously provided property and a building. Before the current facility existed, church was held in borrowed buildings and under tents. The road produced great faith in Pastor Bradley and Melissa Bennett — but the Lord had a great plan. A new plan.

Over the years, God has established this body to hold onto faith and speak the impossible into existence. The New is now a thriving church with an active student ministry and fresh manna on the table every week. The journey was hard — anything new has to be dug out and uncovered — but Pastor Bradley says it has been well worth it.

We are The New: the people God uses to make new ways out of old places — "roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert" (Isaiah 43:19). We are a body sent to edify and empower the body of Christ. We are — and you can be — The New.

Pastor Bradley Bennett

Lead Pastor

Pastor Bradley Bennett is a native of Albany, Louisiana, where he grew up in one of the first known charismatic churches in the area. This church was held in the home of his loving grandparents. It was led by his grandfather and a group of Holy Ghost filled men of God who inspired his love and passion for Christ. As a teen, Pastor Bradley began to feel the Call on his life to minister the Word of God. This is where it all began!

After high school, Pastor Bradley began to serve as a Youth Pastor at Friends in Christ. From there, he began to be called upon to other churches as an Evangelist to minister the Word of God. After several years of serving and sitting under the leadership of Pastor Duke Chance at New Life Covenant Ministries, Pastor Bradley was released with a blessing to become Lead Pastor of New Beginnings Outreach in Holden, Louisiana, now known as The New.

Here Pastor Bradley has grown into a powerful Holy Ghost filled preacher filled with a heart of love for God's people. Not only does he have a heart and love for God's people, Pastor Bradley is a loving husband of 21 years to his wife, Melissa. They have two sons, Tylin and Brock, who he loves unconditionally!

Pastor Bradley enjoys hunting and fishing on occasions but his biggest hobbies are spending time with his family, preaching and leading people to Christ. His focus is to be able to lead God's people back to The Father so that they can have a strong, God centered, enjoyable, joy filled life In Christ Jesus!

We must assemble and worship in spirit and in truth. We must unite to ignite.

We're a Book of Acts church anchored in historic, Spirit-filled conviction. We believe in one God — Yah, the Creator — who restored humanity to Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ (Yahushua): His life, His cross, and His resurrection. We believe the Holy Spirit was given as our Helper, filling believers with gifts to live out the culture of God's Kingdom today. From salvation by grace to the offices that build up the church, what we believe shapes everything we preach, teach, and live.
